The couple did Missionary work all over the world for over 30 years. They traveled at their own expense to every Continent except Australia. Leona was a member of the Community Christian Church and the 55 Plus Sunday school class. She also was a member of the Union Bend Needle Workers. Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Karleskint and husband Tom, and Carol Robinson and husband Jerry, all of Fort Scott. Also surviving is a brother, Fred Winklepleck in Maryland; a sister, Alberta Young, Olathe; 10 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Jack Brooker; grandson, Matt Karleskint; and a brother, Delbert Winklepleck.
The Rev. Kevin Moyers will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Community Christian Church. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m., Monday in the Cheney Witt Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Community Christian Church and may be sent to Cheney Witt Chapel, P.O.
