Edna Rose Peterson, age 88, former resident of rural Fort Scott, died Sunday, March 4, 2007, at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, Mo. She was born March 24, 1918, in Walnut, Kan., the daughter of Joseph Page and Anna Goff Page. At the age of 12, the family moved to Hiattville. She married Peter 0. Peterson on July 30, 1938. He preceded her in death on April 6, 2002. Edna was a member of the Hiattville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Irene Nikolai and husband Richard, Abilene, Texas, and Mildred Washam and husband Roy, Excelsior Springs, Mo. Also surviving are four sisters, Doris Chaplin, Pawnee, Viola Jones, Fort Scott, Golda Koppa, Hiattville, and Gertrude Boyles, Wichita; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Maxine Waldon and Louise Pace; and eight brothers, Glen, Earnest, Orville, Chris, Paul, Jimmy, George and Walt Page. Pastor Dallas Peterson will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Cheney Witt Chapel.
