GRACE LORENE ENDICOTT

Grace Lorene Endicott, age 77, a resident of Fort Scott, went to sleep in Jesus, early Wednesday, February 28, 2007, at the Guest Home Estates of Fort Scott with her family by her side. She was born January 30, 1930, in Farlenville, the daughter of Wayne Cash and Frances Elizabeth Curry Cash. She was raised in Bourbon County and

attended Fort Scott High School with the class of 1948. Grace married William Endicott on November 2, 1946, at Girard. He preceded her in death on May 7, 1989. To this union were born seven children. Their early years of marriage were spent farming in the Drywood - Pawnee area. Later they moved to a small acreage near Hiattville and they moved to Fort Scott in 1972. She was a homemaker arid enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening. She was both a foods and clothing 4-H project leader, while her children were members. Throughout her life she exhibited tremendous strength and courage by caring for ill and dying family members. Following the death other husband, she united with Paul Gordon in 1991. Grace was a helpmate to Paul with his iawmnower and small engine repair shop. They enjoyed traveling and attending dances. Grace provided care for Paul during the last year of his life, as well as care for her sister and parents. Following Grace's health decline, in October 2005, she joined the loving family of

residents and staff of Guest Home Estates, Fort Scott. As a resident she received extraordinary compassionate care from the staff and administrator. Grace was a member of the Cherry Grove Baptist Church. Other memberships included Ideal Chapter No. 369, Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as Worthy Matron and District Aide; Daughters of the Nile, Amaranth and VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include two sons, Oscar Endicott and wife, Ruth, and Robert Endicott and wife, Debbie: four daughters, Joyce Howard, K.aren Endicott-Coyan and husband John, Billie Young and husband, Steve, and Michele Schick and husband, Greg, all of Fort Scott. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, Jim (Angie) Endicott, Fort Scott; Mike (Dana) Endicott, Moran; Tim (Ashley) Endicott, Fort Scott; Louella Howard and Leanna Howard, both of Fort Scott; Joe (Michelle) Raines, Roseville, Calif., Stephanie (Brian) Nimmo, Buffalo, Mo.; Stacy (Gabe) Davis, Riverside, Mo.; Alyeia Endicott, Fort Scott; William, Mathey and Mary Grace Schick, Fort Scott; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Cash, Elkhart, Indiana and Jessie Wiggans, Fort Scott; and a brother-in-law, Tom (Charlene) Endicott, Wichita; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Grace was preceded in death by a daughter, Joy (Yodi) Endicott; a son-in-law, Dennis Howard; two brothers, Howard and Tom Cash; and a sister, Juanita Smith.

The Rev. R. B. Shoemaker will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Large Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
