Linda Metcalf

Linda Lou Metcalf, age 57, of Fort Scott, passed away Monday February 26, 2007, at the Mercy Health Center in Fort Scott. She was born June 27, 1949, in Kansas City, the daughter of Donald Elmer and Nola Merel (Holsinger) Lawson. She married Delmar Metcalf July 12, 1985, in Fort Scott. He survives of the home.

She graduated from Fort Scott High School in 1967 and Fort Scott Community College in 1985. She was a Registered Nurse and worked in OB for Mercy Health Center, Fort Scott, for 26 years.

Linda is survived by her husband, Delmar; a son, Chris Harper and his wife Amanda, of Fort Scott; two sisters, Donna Beerbower of Fort Scott, and Mary Helms of Nevada, Missouri; three step-children; two grandchildren, Kim Harper, and Ryan Harper; eight step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Nola Lawson.

William James Schafer, Mercy Chaplain, N.A.C.C. Certified, will conduct funeral services for Linda at 12:30 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2007, at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. Burial is at the Fort Scott National Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Thursday, March 1, 2007 from 7 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the OB Ward at Mercy Health Center, Fort Scott, and left in care of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W. Wall Street, P.O. Box 309, Fort Scott, Kansas, 66701.
