LeRoy Pitt, age 87, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2007.
A lifelong resident of Topeka, he was born on November 5, 1919, the son of Vincent and Mildred Doerner Pitt.
A graduate of Topeka High School, LeRoy served in the U.S. Army from November 1941 to March 1946. In August 1944 he was deployed overseas and stationed in Mobile Army Surgical Hospital units near Paris, France and other areas in Europe.
After the war, he was employed by the Kansas State Highway Commission-KDOT as a civil engineer until retiring in 1984.
LeRoy married Martha Wolf on April 3, 1942 in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Survivors include his wife Martha, of the home; two daughters, Allison "Lissa" Gorman and husband, Kevin of Fort Scott and Susan Zane and husband, Scott of Topeka; and four grandchildren, Philip and Wendy Gorman, and Timothy and Stephen Mitchell.
