Lois Vivian Clary, age 87, a resident of Deerfield, Mo., died Saturday, December 30, 2006, at her home. She was born May 26, 1919, in Vernon County, Missouri, the daughter of George and Mary Silvers Thurman. Lois graduated from the Fort Scott High School Class of 1937.
She married Noah Frederick Clary on November 15, 1937, in Barton County, Missouri. She was a homemaker, and also helped with the Clary Insurance Agency.
Lois was a member of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Garland, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and church treasurer. She was a member and past Worthy Matron of the Topaz Chapter 325 Order Eastern Star, and belonged to the Thrift Circle Club and the Missouri Jolly Circle Club. Her hobbies included flower and vegetable gardening.
She is survived by her husband, Fred, of the home; three sons, Kenneth Clary and wife Shawnee, Fort Scott, Gerald Clary and wife Rosemary, Johnson, Kansas, and Joe Clary and wife Betty K., Fort Scott; and three daughters, Marilyn Webster and husband Marion, Bronaugh, Missouri, Martha Barwick and husband Eric, Nevada, Missouri, and Linda Crain and husband Bob, Chicago, Ill. Also surviving are fifteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Wanda June Clary.
Pastor Rick Womack, assisted by Pastor Bob Crain, will conduct funeral services for Lois Vivian Clary at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 3, 2007, at the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Garland, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Clarksburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 until 8:00 p.m. at the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Mt.
