Bruce Alvie Raider, 62, Nevada, Mo., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006, at his residence. He was born Aug. 10, 1944 in Lengby, Minn., to William A. Raider and Ellen Wicklund Raider. He was married May 10, 1980 in Lengby, Minn. to Betty A. Fischer and she survives of the home.
Mr. Raider grew up in Minnesota and graduated from Fosston High School, Fosston, Minn.
He served in the U.S. Army for four years in the Medical Corp. Following his service in the Army, he lived in Lebanon, Mo. until 1979, at which time he went back to Minnesota. He and his wife came to Nevada in 2003. He worked at Wal-Mart in Nevada for the past 2 1/2 years. He attended the First Christian Church in Nevada.
In addition to his wife, Betty, survivors include one daughter, Shawna Walker and husband Steve, Valley Center, Kan.; one son, Shawn Raider and wife Kim, Kechi, Kan.; one step-daughter, Sheree Wooley and husband Wade, Shawnee, Kan. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Jack Folstrom, Bud Raider and Fred Raider.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, Mo., with the Rev. Bill Platt officiating.
