Beverly Ann Lyons, age 68, of Fulton, died Friday evening, December 15, 2006 at the Mercy Health Center. She was born April 1, 1938 in Ottawa County, Oklahoma, the daughter of Charles A. and Isabelle E. (Jackson) Kluge. She married James H. "Jerry" Lyons, June 27, 1964 in Joplin, Missouri. He survives of the home.
She was a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia and entered into a career as a Registered Medical Technologist for Mercy Health Systems until she retired after 31 years. She was a member of the Fort Scott Writer's Club and the Kansas Author's Club, as well as the American Society of Medical Technologists. She was a graduate of the Master Gardener Program from both the University of Missouri and Kansas State University. She was a member of the Bourbon County Garden Club and the Master Gardeners, Kansas Master Gardeners, Master Gardeners of Missouri, and Kansas Native Plant Society. She loved to write, garden, bird-watch, star watch and be in nature. She volunteered often with the Master Gardening Club, and at Country View Nursing Home in Prescott, Kansas.
In addition to her husband Jerry, Beverly is survived by a daughter, Belinda Marie (Lyons) Zeitouni and her husband David of Seattle, Washington; a brother, Gene Kluge and his wife Vee of Wyandotte, Oklahoma; and two sisters, Marjie Grimm and her husband Charlie of Springfield, Missouri, and Lois Wyrick of Quapaw, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Following cremation, services will be held at the Lyons Farm on May 6, 2007 as the prairie meadow starts turning green and the prairie flowers begin to bloom. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation and left in the care of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 West Wall Street, P.O.
