A good number of friends, relatives, and former co-workers attended the 25th wedding anniversary given in honor of Ray and Kathy Taylor in the community building last Sunday afternoon. The event was hosted by Ronnie and Bonnie Taylor, who also baked the beautiful cakes and catered the reception. Several former employees of Newman Young Clinic were present.

On Sunday, Nov. 19, District Superintendent Ron King conducted the annual Charge Conference for the Uniontown-Redfield Charge, held in the Fellowship Hall of the Uniontown Methodist Church.

Dewaine and Beverly Geiger were in Tulsa from Tuesday through Friday, and enjoyed the Thanksgiving holidays with their son Bob and family, and enjoyed shopping. The traditional feast was held on Thursday, and included Louise Geiger's family from Broken Arrow and Houston, Texas, as well as Brandi Geiger, McKena and Chance, Owasso, and Justin and Kelly Geiger, Amber and Josh of Sapulpa.

Karen and Andy Johnson entertained with Thanksgiving dinner for Tammy and Barry Frank, Nolan and Garret, Lawrence, Mrs. Bonita Holeman, Betty and Merle Rose, and Abner and Josephine Johnson, Uniontown, Kristi and Scott Schoenhofer and Brycen, Wichita, Leslie and Ryan Rose, and Scott Holeman, Kansas City, Mo.

The Pass Time Club met on Nov. 15, in the recreation room at Cottonwood Estates, with Irene Stockstill as hostess. Alice Clayton called the meeting to order, and read scripture, Psalms 100. Katherine Roof guessed the guess what which was a SOS pad. One of the members had never seen a SOS pad, so Katherine cut it in half and gave it to her. The hostess gift was an assortment of kitchen utensils. The next meeting will be Dec. 20, and will be with Ruth Wilson at her home. A gift exchange and the revealing of secret pals for 2007 were enjoyed.

The First Missionary Baptist All Church Thanksgiving supper was held Nov. 8, and was hosted by the ABW Women. All brought covered dishes to complete the meal. Mary Bruner, Alice Clayton, Becky Shinn and Sandra rich baked the turkeys for the feast and 75 members attended. Becky Shinn was in charge of the table decorations, using art work of colored leaves by the children of the church.

Following the meal a program was enjoyed. Alice Clayton was in charge and welcomed everyone present, and thanked all the ladies of the church for their work in preparing the dinner. The opening prayer was given by Pastor Marty DeWitt. Mary Bruner played a piano solo, "We Gather Together." John and Roberta O'Dell gave the devotions. Special music was by Jeff Tinsley who sang, "Remind Me Dear Lord" as he accompanied himself on the guitar. Jeff Feagins gave a sermonette, telling the story of the ten lepers that were healed, and only one returned back to thank Jesus for the healing, which illustrated the true meaning of Thanksgiving. All sang "Blessed Be The Tie" and the program closed with a prayer by Pastor Marty DeWitt. A program, "Hanging of the Greens" was held. Rhonda Dewitt was the narrator. The congregations and choir sang Christmas hymns. The church was decorated. During a special worship, the children placed small ceramic nativity ornaments to the altar table. As she spoke on each symbol for Christmas, the children carried the poinsettias and the tree lights turned on.

The Rev. Joel Dunn brought the message, "Master Of The Interrogation" to the Methodist Church Sunday. Special music was a vocal solo brought by Debbie McHenry who sang a solo using recorded music, which was much enjoyed by all. Dates to be remembered include Dec. 13, UMW meeting at 10 a.m. The Redfield Church ladies have been invited to share this Christmas meeting. Bring a $1 gift wrapped in brown paper. Dec. 17, the Uniontown church will have a Christmas program.

Bud and Shirley Stottler, Iola, came to Uniontown to pick up Shirley's aunt, Hazel Burt and went to Fort Scott to pick up another aunt, Mrs. Nellie Beaver, and they were all guests of the Stotler's daughter, Rhonda and Rick Hill. Additional guests were Ricky and Josh Hill, and Alexander Hill all of Chanute. Rick was the chef for the delicious meal including smoked turkey and homemade noodles.

The Uniontown Senior Citizens met on Nov. 28 in the community center. Rita Peterson called the meeting to order, and read an article from Guide Post. She asked everyone present to relate one think in particular that they were thankful for, and then gave the table grace. Eleven enjoyed the pot-luck dinner. The guess what was won by Karen Sager and was a flashlight. The members reported 13 sunshine calls. The afternoon was spent visiting. There will not be a meeting of the Senior Citizens in December. The next meeting will be January 2007.

Mary Bruner is directing a Christmas Cantata, "There Is A Bethlehem" that will be presented at the Presbyterian village in Fort Scott, on Dec. 10. It is to be presented again at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Uniontown at 7 p.m. Mark Warren is to accompany the cantata on the electric piano, while Mary directs. The Children's program will be Dec. 17 at the First Missionary Baptist Church, and there is to be Christmas Eve communion service on Dec. 24, at 5:30 p.m. Each year the Church members dedicate time on Christmas Eve to share in a time of giving thanks for the greatest gift of all! Everyone is invited to attend these services.

There is to be a New Year's Party for the youth. Watch for information on this.
