MAXINE MARIE KURTZ

Maxine Marie Kurtz, age 90, of Fort Scott, passed away early Friday morning, December 1, 2006. She was born January 19, 1916 in Uniontown, Ks. the daughter of Morton and Ida Ethyl Maxwell Embry. She married Howard Kurtz on March 2, 1939 in Fort Scott, he preceded her in death on March 26, 1973.

Maxine is survived by a nephew, Jerry Embry of Abilene, Texas; four nieces; Janice Hardin of Fort Scott, Judy Welch of Bronson, Sharon House of Wellsville, and Karen Higginbotham of Bucyrus, and two sisters-in-law, Ruth and Lavon Embry both of Fort Scott. In addition to her husband, Howard, she was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Livian and Virgil Embry.

The Rev. R.B. Shoemaker conducted graveside services at 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at the Memory Gardens of Bourbon County Cemetery.
