DOROTHY ELIZABETH DOTTS
Dorothy Elizabeth Dotts, age 95, a resident of Fort Scott, died Monday, November 20, 2006, at Medicalodge of Fort Scott. She was born October 9, 1911, at Boicourt, Kansas, the daughter of Henry and Bessie Bulger Classen. Her family moved to LaCygne when she attended school, and she graduated from LaCygne High School in 1929. That same year she entered nurses training at age 17. She graduated from nursing school n 1932 and took the state board exam that same year. She retired in 1977 after 45 years of work at the Newman Young Clinic. She was a lifetime member of the Olive Chapter No. 13 Order of the Eastern Star and White Shrine. On November 16, 1946 she married Frank Dotts in Fort Scott. They were married 43 years until he preceded her in death on January 27, 1988. She was a member of Community Christian Church.
Dorothy is survived by two nieces, Barbara Keller, Chanute, and Sujean Jeffries, Middletown, Rhode Island. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Classen; and three sisters, Mary Frances Wilson, Henrietta Keller, and Jessie Ellen Byard.
The Rev. Kevin Moyers will conduct funeral services at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November, 27, 2006 at Cheney Witt Chapel. Burial will follow in the U. S. National Cemetery.
