Survivors include her husband, Robert, of the home in Fort Scott; a son, Robert Smetana and wife, Marlene, Deer Park, Illinois; and a daughter, Paulette Smith, and husband, Jim, Fort Scott, Kansas. Also surviving are two brothers, Arnold Stieve and Russell Stieve, both of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and a sister, Shirley Randazzo, also of Milwaukee; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Following cremation, the Rev. Paul Sieltz will conduct a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 16, 2006, at the Faith Lutheran Church in Pittsburg. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the U. S. National Cemetery in Fort Scott. Memorials are suggested to the Faith Lutheran Church and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel, 201 S. Main, P.O. Box 347, Fort Scott, KS 66701.
