Leslie Eugene Blubaugh, age 82, resident of Fort Scott, Kansas, died Tuesday, October 10, 2006, at the Mercy Health Center.
He was born March 23, 1924 in Fort Scott, the son of Ivan Francis Blubaugh and Lilly Carmen Smith Blubaugh.
Following graduation from Fort Scott High School, he entered the United States Navy and served during World War Il.
He married Evelyn Knotts on September 4, 1943, in Fort Scott. Leslie worked at the Post Office until retiring in 1975.
Leslie is survived by his wife, Evelyn, of the home; three sons, Leslie "Bud" Blubaugh II, Stone Mountain, Georgia, Michael D. Blubaugh, Emporia, Kansas, and Sam Blubaugh and wife, Betty, Parsons, Kansas; two sisters, Joan Huggins, Leawood, Kansas, and Rayma Rich, Lincoln City, Oregon; and two grandchildren Erik and Luke Blubaugh.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanie Farmer.
Following cremation, family and friends will meet for graveside services at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, October 12. 2006, at the U.S. National Cemetery, with V.F.W. Chaplain James Stradley officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Olson Frary Burkhart Post No.1165 V.F.W.
