Edna Mae Armstrong, age 85, of Fort Scott, died Friday, October 6, 2006 at Mercy Health Center. She was born on May 8, 1921 in Afton, Okla. the daughter of Roy and Ella Johnson Franklin. She married Olyn Melvin Armstrong on March 15, 1946 in Fort Scott, he preceded her in death on February 21, 1993.

She is survived by two sons, Robert Armstrong of Fort Scott and Jim Armstrong of Kansas City; a brother, Don Franklin of Tulsa, Okla.; a sister, Sue Lyon, Broken Arrow, Okla.; and six grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her step-mother, Opal Virginia Long Franklin; and three brothers.

Family and friends will meet for graveside services at 1 p.m., Thursday, October 12, 2006 at the Maple Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Don Franklin officiating. Services are under the direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W. Wall Street, Fort Scott.
