Ethel B. Hall

Ethel Bell Hall, age 89, a former resident of 323 Heylman, Fort Scott, died late Sunday, October 1, 2006, at the home of her daughter in rural Pittsburg. She was born August 3, 1917, in Fulton, Kansas, the daughter of Grover C. Mayfield and Hope Mitchell Mayfield. She married Charley E. Hall on November 30, 1935, in Nevada, Missouri. He preceded her in death on May 28, 1991. Ethel was a member of the Mapleton United Methodist Church and the Fulton Order of the Eastern Star. She was lovingly devoted to her family.

Survivors include two sons, Allen Hall and wife, Betty, Pittsburg, Kansas and Leo Hall and wife, Ruth Ann, Hume, Missouri; a daughter, Hope Rodabaugh, and husband John L., of Pittsburg; a son-in-law, Frank Moore, and wife, Dorothy, Fort Scott, Kansas. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Moore; a grandson, David Moore; a sister, Lillian Post; and four brothers, Shorty, Warren, Guy, and James Mayfield.

The Rev. Ron Brown will conduct funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 5, 2006, at the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the Centerville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Cheney Witt Chapel with Eastern Star Services at 7:30 p.m. Services are under the direction of the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel, 201 S. Main, Fort Scott, Kansas.
