Agnes Irene Wright, age 89, resident of Fort Scott, Kansas, died Saturday, September 16, 2006, at Fort Scott Manor Nursing Home. She was born October 26, 1916, in Fort Scott the daughter of Guss Knoblich and Lena Felt Knoblich. She married Lester Wright in 1932 in Fort Scott. He preceded her in death on February 14, 1994. She was a retired retail salesperson for several stores on Fort Scott's Main Street, mainly Litwin's and Cowen's stores. She was baptized in the Fort Scott Brethren Church. Her hobbies include embroidery and collecting dolls. She also loved to travel.

Survivors include two sons, Oliver Wright and wife Beverly, Fort Scott and Earnest Wright and wife Betty, Hollister, Missouri; one daughter Mary Usher and husband Bob, Everett, Washington; and one sister, Dorothy Hoyum, Amarillo, Texas. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward, Henry, and Kenneth Knoblich; two half brothers, Art and Guss Knoblich; one grandson, Terry Wright; two granddaughters, Vicky Wright and Dianne Summers; and one great-granddaughter, Amanda Summers.

The Rev. Paul Rooks will conduct funeral services at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2006, in the Cheney Witt Chapel. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday in the Cheney Witt Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Shrine Children's Transportation Fund and may be sent to Cheney Witt Chapel, P.O.
