Robert Noel Warford, age 83, of Fort Scott, died Thursday, September 7, 2006, at Mercy Health Center, Fort Scott. He was born on August 10, 1923, in Fort Scott, the son of Will Alfred and Luttie Mae Allen Warford. He married Beth Robinson in 1946 in Springfield, Colorado, they later divorced.

Robert was a locomotive engineer for the Frisco Railroad and was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. He was also a 32 degree Mason and a member of the Fort Scott Scottish Rite Bodies.

He is survived by a son, Mike Warford of Springfield, Mo.; two daughters, Jane Warford, Monrovia, Md. and Jill Warford, Fort Scott; three grandchildren, Mary Swearingen, Independence, Leslie George, Merriam, and Olivia Noelle Warford-Grow, Springfield, Mo.; and one niece; Carol Marcano, Kansas City. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary McClain.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 10, 2006, at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home officiated by the Rev. Reed Hartford. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until funeral time on Sunday.
