Good Samaritan
It is not very often that we can find someone who is more concerned about helping people than they are about making money.
However, on rare occasions, a "Good Samaritan" will pop up when we need him or her most. This person's primary goal is not to profit from our needs, but to become a benefit to us in our time of need. Unfortunately, Good Samaritans are not always treated with the same respect that they give to others.
Pat Bishop, as many in this community know, has been a Good Samaritan to many local residents who have found themselves in desperate situations. He truly has a heart of gold, in my opinion. He was one of the first people in Bourbon County to become a mentor in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. He believes in helping these children so much that he recently had been organizing a fundraising event to help Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Recently, I have heard from several people who were telling me what a godsend Pat has been to them during their individual times of need. On behalf of all those who have shared their stories with me, I want to say," Thanks, Pat, for all you have done for those who did not know where else to turn for help."
