Is this your cat?

Posted Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at 4:39 PM

The cat that chooses to stalk my apartment must belong to someone since it has a collar.
I ask because it sure seems to come over to my apartment complex a lot. And when it arrives it's either hungry or it knows how to play on my sense of pity. It comes over enough that I wonder if it's a stray. Yet, the cat has a collar with a couple of little bells on it, so it must belong to someone. Now, I don't think I'd mind feeding your cat when it comes over. Heck the stuff from Wally World is about $1.25 for four cans and the cat doesn't come over that often, so that's okay.

(I probably wouldn't call it "it" but since it's not mine, I haven't actually held or touched the cat, so I don't know if its a he or a she.)

The cat is also aware that birds nest between the roof and the ceiling in my building (I'm on the end of the second floor) and once in a while, I hear it screaming because it *knows* those birds are there! And it wants those birds! NOW!

We're not allowed to have pets at this complex (although I doubt they'd object to fish) so this is as close as I'm going to get to having a pet of my own. That said, if you do own this cat, can you at least tell me what it's name is? I feel kind of weird calling a cat "Cat."

Actually, bwoodward, it's been a couple of weeks since the cat last appeared. The cat's disappearance happened about the same time as the tenant next door to me went on a vacation, so now I think it's her cat (unless the cat was also bumming food off of her). This cat's tail seemed to be fine, though, and I never really looked for any scars. I still don't even know if it's male or female.

Ironically enough, I've since had *another* cat make an appearance. It's a sort of sandy blonde color and it lost its tail in an accident. But this cat has only come by one time. It didn't have a collar.

My cat also had a broken tail. When I brought him home it appeared he had been hit by a car.

Does this cat have a scar on its side? I brought a cat home that looks a lot like this cat. I loved him and fed him and tended him. He disappeared from my yard and I think someone else took him home as he had no reason to leave. I looked for him at length. When the cat that I lost was "my cat", he did not have a collar..I am always afraid a cat will strangle with a collar.

But he sure looks like mine and if he is, I would be glad to come and bring him home. I live at 8th and Crawford.

Awww... what a beautiful baby.. that cat is definitely NOT a stray. Keep feeding.... and jus' call "it" baby. I'm sure it would like that. We have a stray and I call "Him"

Da Baby, and he doesn't seem to mind... as a matter of fact he comes from half a block away if I say... "It's Da Baby!"

(probably just because he knows he's gonna get fed)

It's been suggested by another friend that I call the cat "Nomad," which does make sense. But whoever actually owns the cat has already named it. Not that it probably answers to it. After all, it's a cat and they do what they want.

No... this isnt our cat. But thank you so much for asking! :)

If you dont want to call the cat "Cat", then try calling it "Dog". It may suit him/her/it.
