Something In Common

When approached to blog for The Fort Scott Tribune, I asked myself one main question. What does Layne Felt have to write that is worth reading?
Then breaking that down into what felt like 4 million little self-doubts, I decided that the one thing I have to write about is life.
Just because I'm a small town woman living a small town life, doesn't mean I don't have things to say and questions to ask.
I've found it's the most basic of topics that I find interest. Isn't that why we are addicted to home improvement shows and parenting programs? No matter where we are in life, we will always have something in common with someone, somewhere. Even when circumstances aren't exactly the same, most of us can relate in some way.
I'm not a mother, or a wife, and I'm not a professional anything. What I am is a woman in a seven-year relationship with a man that has an almost 13-year-old daughter. What I am is a girlfriend wanting to be a fiancé and scared of being a wife. What I am is an almost 26-year-old debating on going to college for the first time.
What I am is a person still discovering what I am.
Now here is my question for you. Do we have something in common already? Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

Nice blog Layne. It's nice having the tribune online now and the blog is a good opportunity for community members to write what's on their mind about community and life in general!
