Mr. Not So NFL WorthyPosted Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at 9:57 AM
I watched a lot of the NFL Draft Saturday and Sunday, primarily because I was bored. Primarily because my wife was at work and I could do whatever I pleased without fear of being reprimanded or told to mow or something like that. Anyway, after all the talk about workouts at the combine I started thinking about my becoming a professional football prospect.
Here's what I got to thinking.
I know that I couldn't do one repetition of 225 pounds on the bench press. The best athletes in the draft can do more than 20. Strike one.
I'm pretty sure my vertical is around 2 inches. Strike two.
I can catch a football. There's a plus.
I'm pretty sure I can run a 4.7 40-yard dash. That beats most linemen and Trent Green!
I eat like a lineman. Hey, that's good...right?
So far, so good. Sort of.
Oh oh oh....I can throw the ball accuartely to a target 10 yards away! Strike 3.
Well...it looks like my chances are slim. There is one positive though. I could still play quarterback for the KC Chiefs.
Or maybe I'll just stay a photographer in the PPL (Professional Photographers League). The chicks dig it.
