Even a small wedding has a lot of planning.

What started as a small ceremony with family and friends has turned out to be a lot of work. Apparently, you still have to worry about decorations, music, programs, what different people will do during the ceremony.

Funny me. Why didn't I think of that?

With a week and a half to goâ€*I just want it to be done!

Don't get me wrong, I am super excited! I'm not worried about anything going wrong. I'm not going to morph into Bridezilla. I can roll with the punches.

I'm just so tired of planning!

It's crazy little stuff. Finding cake cutters and programs and flowers and mushy songs.

The thing is, that's just not us.

So I have tried hard to incorporate "us" into our wedding.

As a tribute to Josh, his decision to turn his life back to God, and his relationship with our son, Cainan, we are going to play a song specifically for them as Cainan is escorted down the aisle in his little suit.

The song my dad will walk me down the aisle to symbolizes the love and protection given to us by parents, spouses and most importantly, our Heavenly Father.

When we light the unity candle â€" which we weren't going to have at all at first â€" each one of our parents (of which I have two sets) will get their own little candle. I will have four people come together to light mine. This means more to me that I can really express in words. After an awful divorce and a lot of readjusting over the years, it means so much to me to have the blessings of all of my parents represented in lighting my candle to pass on to my marriage.

While we are lighting candles, a slide show of Josh and I as children and as our life together with Cainan will play in the background to a song that glorifies God's guidance in our lives.

It's these details that mean the most to me. This is about family, love and hope, not the perfect colors, dresses and decorations, although I am so impressed and honored by all of the family members who have worked so hard to make this a beautiful day. I just know that some people (aka: me) tend to get wrapped up in the glitz and glamour of things. But I know the best part of my day will be going home with my husband and little boy after the glitz and glamour is done.
