Walking on Highway 54

If you see someone walking down Highway 54, it's me. I walk every morning, mostly for exercise. But it also helps keep me sane. I think about everything and nothing at the same time.

I wear a bright yellow safety vest, which is sometimes concealed -- or not worn -- when it rains. Sometimes people ask me if I need a ride. The answer is no. Although there may be times I'm tempted to take someone up on it.

If you honk, don't take offense if I don't wave. I don't know many people's cars. Nice honks are welcome; the other kind, not so much. I do try to stay out of the roadway as much as possible. That's sometimes hard when it snows.
